Results of My Sixteenth Month on CALP

Grandma lost her fight with cancer on June 17th. I arrived at my folks house on June 10th and didn't make it back home until June 20th. I am happy that I was with her when she passed, and I would not have had it any other way.

I am still following my weight loss program and it is now obvious to others. I have lost at least fifty pounds by following CALP and am extremely happy that I made sure to include exercise as a part of my program. Right from the beginning I made the decision to not allow any excuse to keep me from following the guidelines of CALP. I have been true to my exercise program as well, and really love the muscle that I am building.

Results of my Fourteenth Month on CALP

I apologize for taking so long to get this entry written and posted, but I am attempting to live my life and it became complicated for awhile.

I spent the entire month of April trying to get some outside work done before summer arrived. It seems like spring turns into summer pretty fast around here, so I knew I had a lot to do. I have a lot more to do outside but at least I was able to get started!

Results of My Eleventh Month on CALP

February 2nd was weigh in and measurement day for me. Beginning the first day of the year, I began a weight loss challenge on one of my support groups. One of the rules of this challenge is to weigh ourselves once a week and reporting in on Mondays. Since I have been following that rule, I am aware of my weight on a weekly basis now.

Support Groups

When I began this way of eating, I did a search on the Internet for support groups that I could become involved with. I joined three support groups and the first group I joined can be found at http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/. CAD/CALP is listed in the Other Plans category under Carbohydrate Addict's. I decided to read and get to know some of the active members of the group and discovered it was a very active group and most of them were following CAD.

The second group I joined was http://forum.lowcarber.org. I joined the CAD/CALP group that was listed in the Active Low-Carber Forums under Daily Low-Carb Support. I decided to read and get to know some of the active members of the group and discovered that it was a very small group. I noticed that the few active members balanced their meals like I did, and I was very excited to join. I introduced myself to the group and became an active member on March 18, 2008. I used to post my menu on a daily basis but only check in when I have the time now.

The third group I joined was http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/MyCAFriends. I was really excited when I found this group because the main page had a picture of the plan I was following. Again I decided to read some old posts in order to get to know everyone. I discovered that there are several members but most of them are not very active. I joined this group on April 11, 2008 and check in when I have the time.
