3.05.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

My weight is a half of a pound more than yesterday, 131-1/2 lbs. I guess I will see what happens tomorrow!

I started my day with two cups of coffee with cream. When I finished my coffee I wanted another cup but I grabbed a glass of water instead. I had to do some online shopping and I can't believe how long it took.

We had leftovers for lunch. My husband warmed up the beef and cabbage and the rice. We also had some leftover cabbage salad to go with it. I grabbed a bowl and added some rice to it and then I topped it off with the beef and cabbage. I grabbed a small bowl and added some of our homemade dark chocolate ice cream to it. I sprinkled some crushed almonds over the top and my meal was simple and delicious.

My energy level was pretty low so instead of working on my house, I started some of the bookwork I needed to do. I stopped long enough to feed my animals and then I got right back to it. My afternoon was gone before I knew it and then it was time for dinner.

My husband made us some tilapia for dinner. He sprinkled some of his Emeril's Blast recipe to it and then he fried them in bacon grease. He steamed us some broccoli and when it was ready, he added some butter to it. I had some tilapia and broccoli and I was satisfied with my meal.

3.04.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

My weight was 131 lbs. this morning. I am up a pound and a half since I left home a couple of days ago so I will have to wait and see which direction my scale will go tomorrow.

My day started with my two cups of coffee with cream. I did not spend much time on my computer, only taking the time to read my emails before setting it down.

I wanted to get my house in order so the first thing I did was to sort the laundry so I could get it started. Ever since I had the Stone Cold ice cream last week I have been wanting it again. In order to have the ice cream ready by the time I finished with my lunch, I had to get it cooked and then it had to cool down enough to freeze in my ice cream maker. I cleaned up the mess and continued to stay busy until it was time for lunch.

My husband made us an old family recipe of beef and cabbage. I grew up eating this dish with cabbage salad and rice and my husband made both of them too. When everything was ready, I grabbed a bowl and added some rice to it before adding the beef and cabbage to the top of it. I had a separate bowl of cabbage salad and my meal was delicious. I grabbed a small bowl and added some of our homemade dark chocolate ice cream to it. I sprinkled some crushed almonds over the top and it was the perfect end to a perfect meal.

When I checked my animals I discovered that one of my rabbit does had babies while I was gone. I knew she was expecting so I put the nest boxes in the cages that might have needed them before I left.

I had some of our leftover broccoli and cheese soup for dinner. It is amazing how delicious, filling, as well as satisfying, this soup is. I have a feeling that I will be having it a lot more often.

3.03.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

I spent the night at my folks house so I did not have access to my scale when I woke up. It was probably a good thing since I ate carbohydrates with both of my meals yesterday. I did not have any cream to go with my coffee so I did not have any. Since I always drink something when I wake up, I grabbed a bottle of water.

We found out that the painters would not be coming again today so when my mom got up, she stripped her bed and put them in washing machine. It has been my job to clip her dogs nails, so I grabbed one of them and got started. Once she was finished, I grabbed the other one and got her done. Neither one of them like it, so it takes me awhile to get each of them done since I try and soothe them while being extremely careful not to hurt them.

My dad usually eats around 11 a.m. each day, so my mom began fixing breakfast around that time. She made bacon and eggs and when I fixed my plate, I added a few drops of ketchup to my eggs. I enjoyed my brunch and then I cleaned up the mess.

Since the painters were not coming again today, there was no need for me to stay another night. Since I was going home later in the afternoon, I grabbed the broom and swept the kitchen floor. I like to leave the house clean when I leave so I grabbed the vacuum and got all the rooms done except for the two bedrooms that were storing all the stuff that came off the walls, shelves, and out of the curio cabinets. 3.02.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

I woke up early because I had a two hour drive to get to my folks house by 8 a.m. I drank my two cups of coffee with cream while I got ready to go. My husband helped me load my car and then I got going.

When I arrived I was happy to see my sister and her friend. They arrived a few minutes before I did and they were already working. I unloaded my car and then I got started with the rest of them. Around 10 a.m., we found out that the painters were not going to make it that day. It was a relief to hear that they were not coming so we continued to work without the pressure of having to stay ahead of them, since we had the rest of the day to get it all done.

My sister, her friend, mom, and I went to a restaurant for lunch and I ordered breakfast. I ordered an omelet with avocado, bacon, bell pepper, cheddar & jack cheese, and mushrooms. I had a choice of hash browns or country potatoes and I chose the country potatoes. I added ketchup to my plate since I prefer it with my eggs and potatoes and totally ignored the bread. Since I had been awake for several hours, I was hungry enough to eat and finish everything on my plate.

When we returned from lunch, we all got back to work. We still had plenty to do since we were washing and cleaning everything we picked up. I cleaned the top of all of the cabinets while my sister and her friend cleaned the shelves on all of the curio cabinets. At least when it comes time to put it all back, everything will be clean!

My mom, dad, sister, and her friend chose to go out to eat dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Even though I had eaten carbohydrates in my earlier meal, I went ahead and ate them with this meal too. I ordered a single carne asada tostada and it was served on a crispy corn tortilla. They topped it with carne asada, avocado, lettuce, and sour cream. I enjoyed the chips and salsa while waiting for my tostada and when I finished it, I was happy and satisfied with my meal.

3.01.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

I dropped 2-1/2 lbs., weighing 130-1/2 lbs. this morning. This is my all time lowest weight I have seen in over thirty years. Amazing how well the weight comes off when I skip a meal the day before!

My morning began with two cups of coffee with cream. The first thing I did was pick up my Shih Tzu and begin grooming him. It had been over two months since I cut his hair and it really needed to be done. The hair on these dogs continue to grow so you would think he would be used to me cutting the hair between the pads of his feet as well as every place else, but he still gets nervous. Once his feet and legs were done I took him into the bathroom and began grooming him with the clippers. I managed to get him all done before lunch and I even clipped his nails.

I was going to have some Mexican steak for lunch but my husband made some more broccoli and cheese soup and it was ready to eat. I poured me a bowl and when I finished I went into my freezer and cut me a piece of coconut bread. I defrosted the bread and ate it, completing my meal.

My husband was working on my mom's carpet shampooer so in order to test it, we used it on our carpets. The soap was not working when I brought it home and since he got it working, we shampooed the carpets in our living and dining rooms.

When I went out to feed my animals, I bred a couple of the rabbits. Now that it is so close to spring, I should not have any problems getting them bred.

Dinner was leftovers. My husband and I split the last of the Mexican steak and since that was not enough for me, I had a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup too.

March, 2013 - CALP Low Carb Journal

This will be my daily journal for the month of March. My weight dropped two pounds since last month, so I am still heading in the right direction.

I am approaching my fifth anniversary of following CALP and my sixth year will begin on 3/03/13. This weight loss program definitely works for me. I have lost over 100 lbs., and I am still losing. Needless to say, I am thankful that I found it!

I am still working on my wheat and gluten free lifestyle. I noticed that when I eat wheat, my cravings begin leaving me hungry for several days afterwards.

I am no longer trying to eliminate dairy from my diet. I have not noticed any difference when I eat it, so I don't believe I have an allergy to it.

This month I am going to be increasing my fat intake. I have noticed that I don't seem to be as hungry when I eat more fat so this is another experiment I will be trying.

2.28.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

My weight dropped a pound and a half and I weighed 133 lbs. this morning. I was going to drink one cup of coffee with cream but I was getting ready to go to town and had two cups with cream.

I had a doctor appointment scheduled for my annual physical and there were other things I wanted to do while I was in town. I was able to visit three thrift stores before my appointment and when it was over I went to Walmart and then Kmart. I had a lot of shopping to do so I spent quite a bit of time in both of those stores. Once I finished with them, I stopped at the Dollar Store. I was going to stop at the grocery store but I felt as if it could wait until my next trip, so I skipped it.

I did not arrive home until 5:30 p.m., and my husband helped me unload my car. Since neither one of us had any breakfast or lunch, he was eating dinner when I arrived. I made me a salad and warmed up the leftover Swiss steak. I completed my meal with a tangerine.

2.27.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

My weight is up a pound, 134-1/2 lbs.

I started my day with a cup of coffee with cream. I decided I am going to try and start eating more fat so I am going to begin my days with cream in my coffee. I am only supposed to drink one cup if I include cream, so that is all I had. Once it was finished, I began drinking my water.

Another busy day and when it came time for lunch, I grabbed the last of my dark chocolate almond bark and ate it while making me a chicken salad. There was some leftover chicken so I added it to my salad of romaine lettuce, avocado, bacon, celery, cheddar cheese, cucumber, sesame seeds, and our homemade cilantro dressing.

Dinner was a recipe that we have not had for quite awhile. My husband made us some Mexican steak that was made with bell pepper, cheese, garlic, onions, and tomatoes. When it was ready, I made me a bowl and because I did not have any rice or anything, it was like eating soup. I really enjoyed this meal and look forward to having this recipe again.

2.26.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

My weight dropped a half of a pound and I weighed 133-1/2 lbs. this morning. I drank my two cups of green tea while getting ready to go to the flea market, lunch, and Costco.

My husband and I had planned to visit a flea market that is not too far from Costco since it was time for a Costco run. We arrived around mid-morning and began walking down each row. The only thing I would want to go back for would be some bamboo, but it was nice to get out and walk around.

It was close to noon and the aroma of the carmel corn, Mexican food, and Chinese food, were getting to us. We were both getting hungry so when we finished, we went searching for lunch. We ended up at a restaurant called “The Omelet House” and I ordered a bell pepper, jack cheese, mushroom, and linguica omelet with potatoes. I substituted tomatoes for the bread, pancakes, toast, or waffle, but they were not ripe enough for me to eat. My omelet was delicious and so were the potatoes, even though there were not enough of them. When we finished our meal, I wanted an ice cream.

We found a Cold Stone Creamery and I ordered the dark chocolate ice cream and I had them mix some almonds with it. This was the most delicious ice cream I have had in a very long time. The sun was shining so my husband and I enjoyed our ice creams while we strolled around town window shopping. I was more than satisfied with my meal and dessert and then we proceeded to Costco.

We picked up the items we needed and returned home. I don't know how but our afternoon was gone by the time we arrived home. By the time we put all our items away, we were both tired and took it easy for the rest of the evening.

When it became time for dinner neither one of us was hungry, so we skipped it!

2.25.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

My weight popped up to 134 lbs. Yesterday I saw the lowest weight I have seen in a very long time and my weight popped up 2-1/2 lbs. overnight!

My day started with my two cups of green tea. I did not spend any time on my computer and stayed busy with other things. The worst part about cleaning is having to do it over and over again! At least my days have been productive!

My husband made us a new recipe for lunch. He defrosted some round steak and made a swiss steak type of recipe with coconut flour. We were out of vegetables except for some kale so he made us a kale recipe to go along with our steak. I grabbed a couple of pieces of dark chocolate almond bark to complete my meal.

There was a small amount of broccoli and cheese soup left so my dinner began with a bowl. My husband fried some ham to scramble with some eggs and I had diced ham and scrambled eggs too.
