11.17.13, Low Carb Diet Journal

My weight is 142 lbs. I am not surprised since I had a super burrito for lunch yesterday. Carbs, carbs, and more carbs!

I enjoyed a full pot of decaf coffee and added heavy whipping cream to all four and a half cups.

When it was time for lunch I made two salads. They both included romaine lettuce, celery, cheddar cheese, and our homemade vinaigrette dressing. My husband warmed up the leftover chicken and served me a quarter, the breast and wing. After I finished my salad I began eating the chicken but I only ate a small amount since I was not in the mood.

When it came time for dinner, I was hungry because I did not eat very much protein earlier. My husband started the barbecue and when it was ready he put a New York steak and some hot links on the grill. When the steak was ready, he served me the entire steak. He also warmed up the stir fried vegetables that he made the other day. There was bell pepper, onion, and red cabbage. I ate and enjoyed half of my steak and also ate half of my bowl of vegetables.

What surprised me the most about the amount of food I ate today was that I did not eat more. Usually after I eat a heavy carbohydrate meal, like the super burrito I had yesterday, I lose control over my appetite and it takes me a few days to get it back under control.

About me

I'm Teri and I am 54 years old. I have been fighting my weight since I was fourteen, dieting my way all the way up to 236 lbs. I started my weight loss program on March 3, 2008, and at that time I was unable to get into the largest pair of jeans I owned, size 18W. I have lost close to 100 pounds, and I now wear a size 4 jeans. My diet and exercise program have me feeling better than I could have ever imagined and I did it without starving or depriving myself in any way.

I am getting myself into better shape and my goal of becoming fit and healthy is getting closer every day.
