Smaller Body Size Requires Less Food

LowCarbForLife's picture

I have lost quite a bit of weight and just now realized that I am eating too much for my new body size. My portion sizes are still what they were when I began following this program, so I have been cutting them down the last couple of days.

I have always known that eating again is as easy as grabbing another CM, but I always felt as if I needed to eat enough to hold me over until my next meal. Since I started this way of eating to lose weight and get myself into better shape, I have decided that changes need to be made. I will now be eating portions relative to my new size!

I will also be making another change to my program, since I feel as if I am in complete control of my sweet tooth now. Since I knew chocolate was my biggest weakness from the beginning, I tried to limit it to every other day and I feel as if I did a fairly good job of it. I did use my carbohydrate portion to get my chocolate fix, but I feel as if it served me well. I have reached the point where I am now in control of chocolate, instead of it controlling me. I will no longer be limiting my chocolate to every other day and will try to incorporate healthier carbohydrates into my program, with a small amount of chocolate as my dessert just like a "normal" person.

If I had an opportunity to start all over again, I would not change a thing. I have no doubt that eating chocolate as my sole carb every other day is why I was able to follow the program without cheating the last year and a half. I also know that I have acquired a whole new relationship with chocolate that is actually a healthy one, since it is no longer its own food group in my mind!

About me

I'm Teri and I am 54 years old. I have been fighting my weight since I was fourteen, dieting my way all the way up to 236 lbs. I started my weight loss program on March 3, 2008, and at that time I was unable to get into the largest pair of jeans I owned, size 18W. I have lost close to 100 pounds, and I now wear a size 4 jeans. My diet and exercise program have me feeling better than I could have ever imagined and I did it without starving or depriving myself in any way.

I am getting myself into better shape and my goal of becoming fit and healthy is getting closer every day.
